Domailfix and the Email X-ray

What is Domailfix?

Domailfix is an AI email verification and email finder tool by Achivix. It tells you whether an email address is real before you send, finds a person's work email from their name and company website, cleans whole lists, searches company domains and checks phone numbers. Every result comes with an Email X-ray that shows why.

What is the Email X-ray?

The Email X-ray shows why an address got its result. Domailfix splits the address into the person part (before the @) and the company part (after the @) and lists what it found about each: for the person, whether the name matches the company's email format and whether they still work there; for the company, its mail provider and whether it accepts every address. Every result also gets a confidence score from 0 to 100.

What do Deliverable, Likely valid, Risky, Undeliverable and Unknown mean?

Deliverable: the address is real and can receive mail, so it is safe to send. Likely valid: very likely real but not fully provable, usually fine to send. Risky: it may work but cannot be confirmed, so send with care. Undeliverable: the address does not exist or cannot receive mail, so remove it. Unknown: no clear answer this time, and you are not charged.

Can Domailfix verify catch-all (accept-all) email addresses?

Yes. Many companies accept mail for every address, so most email checkers just say "accept-all" and stop. Domailfix goes further and shows how likely it is that the mailbox is real, as Likely valid or Risky with a confidence score.

Do you send an email to the addresses I check?

No. Domailfix never sends a message to the addresses you check, so the people you check are never contacted and never see anything.

How do I find someone's work email address?

Open Find email, type the person's full name and their company website, and click Find. A confirmed address uses 2 credits, Likely valid or Risky 1 credit, and Unknown or Not found is free. If the person has left the company and Domailfix finds public proof, it tells you. For many people at once, upload a CSV of up to 500 names.

Can I verify a whole email list?

Yes. Upload a CSV or TXT file of up to 50,000 addresses, or paste them, and download a clean CSV with a result for every row and a list health score. Duplicates are checked once and Unknown results are free. You can also clean lists inside Mailchimp, Brevo, Instantly and other tools from your account.

How much does Domailfix cost?

You can try 10 checks free without an account, and a free account gets 100 free credits every month. After that you buy credits with a one-time payment in rupees or dollars, with no subscription, and bought credits never expire. Checking an email uses 1 credit, and Unknown results are free.

Email verification

How accurate is Domailfix?

Domailfix gives a clear Deliverable or Undeliverable answer whenever an address can be confirmed, and it never guesses. When an address cannot be fully confirmed it says so (Likely valid, Risky or Unknown) with a confidence score, and the Email X-ray shows what was found, so you can decide for yourself.

What does the confidence score mean?

It is a number from 0 to 100 that shows how sure Domailfix is about the result. Above 80 is a strong answer, 50 to 80 means likely but not proven, and below 50 means take care before you send.

What happens if the person has left the company?

When Domailfix finds clear public proof that a person has left, the address is marked so you do not send to it, and the proof is shown with the result. In the email finder this uses 2 credits, because it still answers your question.

What are disposable and toxic addresses?

Disposable addresses are throwaway inboxes that disappear after a while. Toxic addresses, such as spam traps or abuse@ inboxes, can report your email as spam. Domailfix marks both as Risky so you can leave them out.

Why should I verify email addresses before sending?

Sending to addresses that do not exist causes bounces. A high bounce rate damages your sender reputation and pushes your emails into spam. Removing bad addresses first protects deliverability and saves money on email tools that charge per contact.

Do you keep the email addresses I check?

No. Addresses you check are not kept as a list, and bulk results are deleted from our server about two hours after the job finishes. See the Privacy Policy for details.

What is domain search?

Enter a company website to see the email format its people use, whether it accepts every address, and the team emails, phone numbers and social pages it publishes, each with its source. It uses 1 credit when something is found; nothing found is free.

Can I use Domailfix in Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or my own software?

Yes. Add Domailfix to Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini in a few clicks (see the Apps menu), or create an API key on your account page and use the API, Zapier, Make, Google Sheets or the Chrome extension. Checks use the same credits.

Can I pay in rupees?

Yes. Prices are shown in Indian rupees and US dollars. Pick the currency you want before you pay.

Can I try Domailfix without signing up?

Yes. You get 10 free checks on the website without an account. Sign up free to get 100 free credits every month.

Email finder and email formats

What is an email format?

The pattern a company uses for its staff email addresses, such as first.last@company.com or flast@company.com. Knowing it, you can work out a person's address from their name.

Where does this come from?

From addresses Domailfix has confirmed. Only the format is kept, never anyone's address.

Is the address then certain to work?

Not always: people use nicknames, and some companies accept every address. Use the Domailfix email finder or verifier to check the exact address before you send.

Target accounts, enrichment and workflows

What are target accounts?

Your lists of companies to sell to. Paste company websites under Target accounts in your account and Domailfix builds a profile of each one: industry, location, team size, open jobs, technologies, phones and team emails. Describe your ideal customer to get a fit score from 0 to 100, and turn on Watch weekly to hear when a company changes. 1 credit per company read; the weekly re-checks are free.

What is Enrich a list?

Upload a CSV and get the same file back with a verified work email and company columns added: industry, city, team size, founded, hiring, technology and email service. Rows with an email are verified, rows with a name and website get their work email found, and rows with only a website get the company columns. Up to 1,000 rows; anything without an answer is free.

What are workflows?

Ready-made automations you turn on under Workflows in your account: Hiring alert to leads, Weekly fresh leads, Clean every new signup, Before every campaign, CRM hygiene, New lead to enriched lead and Low credit warning. Pick one, fill in a few boxes and click Turn on this workflow. Workflows are free; the steps they run use the normal credits.

How does Hiring alert to leads work?

Watch a target account list and upload the people you want to reach there (Name and Website). When one of those companies posts new jobs, Domailfix finds the work emails of your people at that company and, if you choose, adds them to your Smartlead, Instantly or lemlist campaign. Each person is searched once, as in Find email.

Can Domailfix send alerts to Slack?

Yes. Open Webhooks and Slack in your account, paste a Slack incoming webhook address and tick what you want to hear about: lists finished, automatic checks, new contacts, companies that changed and your workflows. Your own system can get the same alerts as signed webhooks. Alerts are free.

Can new contacts be checked as soon as they join my list?

Yes. On an automatic check under Clean lists in your tools, click Instant checks on and add the address it gives you as a webhook in Mailchimp, Brevo, HubSpot or your form tool. Each new contact is checked within a minute (1 credit, Unknown free) and bad ones are marked in your tool.

Can Domailfix keep my CRM and campaigns clean?

Yes. The CRM hygiene workflow verifies every HubSpot, Pipedrive or Zoho CRM contact once a month, on a day you choose, and saves the result on each contact. Before every campaign re-checks a Smartlead, Instantly or lemlist campaign each month and blocks the bad contacts there. Automatic checks do the same for Mailchimp, Brevo and other email tools.

Does Domailfix look up people's phone numbers or personal details?

No. Enrichment and workflows only add company information that the company publishes, and only find the work email of the people you name. Domailfix never looks up a person's mobile number, personal email or profile.

Phone check

How do I check if a phone number is valid?

Enter the number above with its country, or with + and the country code (for example +91 98200 12345). Domailfix checks that it has the right length and belongs to a number range in use in that country, and tells you if it is a mobile, landline or toll-free number.

Can I check a whole list of phone numbers?

Yes. Paste up to 10,000 numbers or upload a CSV or TXT file. Domailfix finds the phone column, checks every number, marks duplicates, and lets you download the clean list as a CSV with each number in E.164 format.

Does it tell me if the phone is switched on?

No. It checks that the number is valid and how it is set up, but not whether the phone is switched on or in use today. That needs a live lookup on the phone networks.

Can it show where the person is?

No. It shows the city or region of the number's area code, for example Mumbai for an 022 landline. For most Indian mobile numbers only the country is known. This is where the number was issued, never where the person is, and Domailfix does not show who owns a number.

Which network does it show for Indian mobile numbers?

The network the number was first given to, such as Jio, Airtel, Vi or BSNL. In India people can move their number to another network, so the current network can be different.

What does Risky mean?

The number is valid but looks made up, such as 9999999999 or 9876543210, or it is a premium-rate number that costs the caller extra. Check these before you call or send messages.

Can it tell if a number is on India's DND list?

No. TRAI's Do Not Disturb list is only open to registered senders. Send promotional calls and SMS through a DLT-registered provider (Jio, Airtel, Vi, BSNL or an SMS company such as MSG91), which removes DND numbers for you.

Can it spot fake numbers typed by bots?

Yes, the common ones: repeated or running digits (9999999999, 9898989898, 1234567890), numbers full of zeros, internet (VoIP) numbers and public "free SMS" numbers are marked Risky, and numbers that several customers reported as spam are marked Spam.

How much does it cost?

1 credit per number. Duplicates in a list are checked once. Credits never expire, and you can try it free without an account.

Are the numbers I check stored or shared?

No. The check runs on Domailfix's own server, numbers are not stored after the answer, and they are never sent to anyone else.

Account, credits and payments

How do credits work?

Checking an email uses 1 credit, finding an email 2 credits when it is found or when the person has left the company (shown with proof), 1 for a likely valid or risky address, a company email format half a credit, a phone number 1 credit and a domain search 1 credit when something is found. Unknown results, and anything not found, are free.

Do bought credits expire?

No. Bought credits are a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and they stay in your account while it is open.

Can I get a refund?

Please see our Refund Policy.

Why can I not sign up with Gmail or Yahoo?

New accounts need a work email address, which keeps free credits for real businesses. If you already have an account, you can always log in with it.

Where do I find my API key?

On your account page, under API key. Use it with the API, the Chrome extension, Google Sheets, Zapier and the other integrations.

How do I delete my account or download my data?

On your account page. Deleting your account removes your details and credit history, except invoices that the law requires us to keep.

Free email tools

Why do SPF, DKIM and DMARC matter?

They prove an email really comes from your domain. Since 2024 Gmail and Yahoo require all three from anyone sending in bulk, and emails without them are far more likely to go to spam.

Is this check free?

Yes. It only reads your domain's public DNS records and never sends an email.

I fixed a record. Why does it still show the old one?

DNS changes can take up to a few hours to spread. Results here are also kept for 15 minutes; check again a little later.

What is the SPF 10 lookup limit?

Receivers follow at most 10 DNS lookups (include, a, mx, ptr, exists, redirect) when reading SPF. Above that, SPF fails, even for your real emails.

~all or -all?

~all marks other senders as suspicious, -all asks receivers to reject them. Both are fine with DMARC; use -all once you are sure every service you send from is listed.

Can I have two SPF records?

No. Two SPF records make SPF fail. Merge them into one.

Which DMARC policy should I use?

Start with p=none to receive reports without affecting delivery. When the reports show your own email passes, move to p=quarantine and then p=reject.

Where do I add it?

Add a TXT record with the host name _dmarc at your DNS provider (for example Namecheap, GoDaddy or Cloudflare).

What is a DKIM selector?

The name your DKIM key is published under, for example google for Google Workspace or selector1 for Microsoft 365. You can see it in a sent email's headers: DKIM-Signature: ... s=NAME.

How long should a DKIM key be?

2048 bits is recommended. 1024 bits still works; shorter keys are ignored.

What does MX stand for?

Mail exchanger: the server that accepts email for a domain.

Why does a domain have several MX records?

Backups. Senders try the lowest number first and fall back to the others.

I am listed. What now?

Find out why: open the list's page from the results. Fix the cause first (a hacked account, a bad list, a missing unsubscribe link), then request removal there. Most lists remove you for free.

Why could some lists not be checked?

Some lists, such as Spamhaus, refuse lookups from busy public DNS servers. Use the list's own page for those.

Does a clean list result mean I reach the inbox?

Not on its own. Inbox placement also depends on SPF, DKIM, DMARC, your sending habits and list quality. Verify your list with Domailfix before sending to keep bounces low.

Why block disposable emails?

Nobody reads them after a few minutes, so your welcome emails bounce or vanish, trial limits get abused and your sender reputation suffers.

How many disposable domains do you know?

Thousands, and the list is updated regularly. New throwaway services appear every week, so pair this check with full email verification for sign-up forms.

Can I block them on my sign-up form automatically?

Yes. The Domailfix website widget checks addresses as people type them and stops disposable ones.

What does the score measure?

What can be seen without contacting any mail server: badly written addresses, duplicates, likely typos such as gmial.com, throwaway domains and shared inboxes such as info@.

Does a high score mean no bounces?

No. An address can look perfect and still not exist. Verify the list with Domailfix to find the mailboxes that would bounce; the results page shows a score based on the real checks.

Is my list stored?

No. The check runs on the text you paste and nothing is saved.

What is the difference between a hard and a soft bounce?

A hard bounce is permanent (the address or domain does not exist): remove the address. A soft bounce is temporary (full mailbox, server busy): it may work later.

Why do bounces matter?

Mail providers watch your bounce rate. Above about 2% your emails start going to spam. Verify lists before sending to keep it low.

Is the text I paste sent anywhere?

No. The explanation is worked out in your browser.

Where do I add the SPF record?

At your DNS provider (Namecheap, GoDaddy, Cloudflare and so on): add a TXT record with host @ and the record as the value. Remove any older SPF record first; a domain may have only one.

What does the counter mean?

Receivers follow at most 10 DNS lookups when reading SPF. Each include counts. Above 10, SPF fails.

Which policy should I start with?

p=none. You get reports without any effect on delivery. When the reports show your real email passes, move to quarantine, then reject.

Do I need SPF and DKIM first?

Yes. DMARC passes when SPF or DKIM passes for your domain. Set them up first.

What makes an email address valid?

A name part (up to 64 characters), one @, and a domain such as company.com. The name part may use letters, digits and a few symbols such as . _ - +, but not two dots in a row or a dot at the start or end.

Does correct syntax mean the address exists?

No. An address can be written perfectly and still not exist. Use the email verifier to check that the mailbox is real before you send.

What is plus addressing?

Many providers deliver jane+news@company.com to jane@company.com. It is valid and often used to sort email.

Why did my email go to spam?

Look at the SPF, DKIM and DMARC results first: a fail is the most common reason. Then check the spam score lines, if the receiving server added any.

How do I spot a fake (phishing) email?

Warning signs are a failed DMARC check, a Reply-To address at a different domain than the From address, and a first server that has nothing to do with the company the email claims to be from.

Why was my email delayed?

The table shows the time at each server. A long gap between two steps shows where it waited, often because of greylisting or a busy server.
