Phone number validator
Is this phone number valid? Paste one number or a whole list below. Domailfix checks that each number has the right length and is in a range used in its country, and shows whether it is a mobile, landline or toll-free number, the country, the network it was first given to, and the number in a clean +91 (E.164) format. Works for India and 240+ countries.
What the phone number check tells you
Results explained
- Valid: the number is correctly formed and in use in its country. Safe to save, call or message.
- Risky: valid, but looks made up (repeated or running digits) or is a premium-rate number. Check before using it.
- Invalid: too short, too long, a wrong country code, or not a range used in that country. Fix or remove it.
- Bounced: a real number that is no longer in service, so calls fail. Shown when Domailfix users reported that calls to it fail (two different customers must agree).
How to clean a phone number list
- Export your contacts as a CSV, or copy the phone column.
- Choose the country for numbers written without + (for India, choose India).
- Paste the numbers or upload the file, and click Check numbers.
- Download the CSV. Keep the Valid numbers, check the Risky ones, and remove Invalid numbers and duplicates.
You can also check numbers in the Phone numbers tab on the home page, through the
Claude connector, or with the API: POST /api/phones with
{"numbers": [...], "country": "IN"}.
Pricing
5 credits per number. Duplicates are checked once. Credits never expire, and there is no subscription. See prices.
What it does not check
It does not say whether a phone is switched on or in service today; that needs a paid live lookup with the phone networks. It never shows who owns a number or where the person is. When you call or message numbers in India, follow TRAI's Do Not Disturb (DND) rules.
Questions and answers
How do I check if a phone number is valid?
Enter the number above with its country, or with + and the country code (for example +91 98200 12345). Domailfix checks that it has the right length and belongs to a number range in use in that country, and tells you if it is a mobile, landline or toll-free number.
Can I check a whole list of phone numbers?
Yes. Paste up to 10,000 numbers or upload a CSV or TXT file. Domailfix finds the phone column, checks every number, marks duplicates, and lets you download the clean list as a CSV with each number in E.164 format.
Does it tell me if the phone is switched on?
No. It checks that the number is valid and how it is set up, but not whether the phone is switched on or in use today. That needs a live lookup on the phone networks.
Can it show where the person is?
No. It shows the city or region of the number's area code, for example Mumbai for an 022 landline. For most Indian mobile numbers only the country is known. This is where the number was issued, never where the person is, and Domailfix does not show who owns a number.
Which network does it show for Indian mobile numbers?
The network the number was first given to, such as Jio, Airtel, Vi or BSNL. In India people can move their number to another network, so the current network can be different.
What does Risky mean?
The number is valid but looks made up, such as 9999999999 or 9876543210, or it is a premium-rate number that costs the caller extra. Check these before you call or send messages.
How much does it cost?
5 credits per number. Duplicates in a list are checked once. Credits never expire, and you can try it free without an account.
Are the numbers I check stored or shared?
No. The check runs on Domailfix's own server, numbers are not stored after the answer, and they are never sent to anyone else.
