Email verification and results

What is Domailfix?

Domailfix is an email finder and verification tool from Achivix. It checks whether an email address is valid and can receive mail before you send to it, and it can find a person's work email from their name and company website. You can check one address or upload a whole list.

How many credits does email verification and email finding use?

Verifying an email uses 1 credit, and you are charged only when you get a clear answer: results marked Unknown are free. Finding an email uses 2 credits, and only when an address is found; Not found and Likely match results are free. In a bulk list, each address is charged once even if it appears more than once. Your free credits are always used first, and bought credits never expire.

What do Deliverable, Undeliverable, Risky and Unknown mean?

Deliverable means the address is valid and can receive mail. Undeliverable means the address is badly formed or does not exist. Risky means the address may work but cannot be confirmed, for example on an accept-all domain. Unknown means no clear answer was available, and you are not charged for it.

What does Likely valid mean?

Likely valid means the address is very likely real, but it cannot be fully confirmed, for example because the company accepts every address or did not give a clear answer. You can usually send to it; keep an eye on your bounce rate. A Likely valid result uses 1 credit.

What is an accept-all (catch-all) domain?

Some companies accept email for every address, real or not. For those companies no email verifier can prove that one mailbox exists, so Domailfix marks the address as Risky instead of guessing.

How accurate is email verification?

Domailfix gives a clear Deliverable or Undeliverable answer whenever an address can be confirmed, and it never guesses. When an address cannot be confirmed, for example at companies that accept every address, it is marked Risky or Unknown instead, and Unknown results are free.

Can I verify an email list in bulk?

Yes. Open the Bulk list tab, drop a CSV or TXT file or paste the addresses, and download the results as a CSV file when the check finishes. Duplicate addresses are checked once.

How much does email verification cost?

You can try Domailfix free without an account, and you get more free credits when you sign up. After that you buy credit packs with a one-time payment. There is no subscription, bought credits never expire, one check uses one credit, and results marked Unknown are not charged.

Why should I verify email addresses before sending?

Sending to addresses that do not exist causes bounces. A high bounce rate damages your sender reputation and pushes your emails into spam. Removing invalid addresses first protects deliverability and saves money on email tools that charge per contact.

Do you keep the email addresses I check?

No. Addresses you check are not kept as a list, and bulk results are deleted from our server about two hours after the job finishes. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Can I use Domailfix from my own software or from AI assistants such as Claude?

Yes. Create an API key on your account page and call the API, or add Domailfix to an AI assistant as an MCP connector. Checks made this way use the same credits.

Can Domailfix find someone's email address?

Yes. Open the Find email tab and enter the person's full name and their company website. Domailfix shows an address only when it is confirmed. If none is confirmed it shows Not found, which is free; a found address uses 2 credits. For whole lists of contacts, Achivix offers research as a service at achivix.com.

How can I contact Domailfix?

Email us at contact@achivix.com and we will reply as soon as we can, usually within one working day. You can also reach us through achivix.com. Domailfix is a product of Achivix.

I paid but my credits did not appear. What should I do?

First refresh your account page, as credits are usually added within a minute. If they still have not appeared, email contact@achivix.com with the email address of your account and your order ID or payment reference, and we will sort it out quickly.

Can I get a custom plan or more than 100,000 credits?

Yes. For large lists, team use or a custom plan, email contact@achivix.com with how many emails you need to check each month and we will send you an offer.

How do I report a problem or suggest a feature?

Email contact@achivix.com with a short description and, if possible, a screenshot. We read every message and use your feedback to improve Domailfix.

Email finder and email formats

What is an email format?

The pattern a company uses for its staff email addresses, such as first.last@company.com or flast@company.com. Knowing it, you can work out a person's address from their name.

Where does this come from?

From addresses Domailfix has confirmed with company mail servers, the company's own website and public web pages. Only the format is kept, never anyone's address.

Is the address then certain to work?

Not always: people use nicknames, and some companies accept every address. Use the Domailfix email finder or verifier to check the exact address before you send.

Phone check

How do I check if a phone number is valid?

Enter the number above with its country, or with + and the country code (for example +91 98200 12345). Domailfix checks that it has the right length and belongs to a number range in use in that country, and tells you if it is a mobile, landline or toll-free number.

Can I check a whole list of phone numbers?

Yes. Paste up to 10,000 numbers or upload a CSV or TXT file. Domailfix finds the phone column, checks every number, marks duplicates, and lets you download the clean list as a CSV with each number in E.164 format.

Does it tell me if the phone is switched on?

No. It checks that the number is valid and how it is set up, but not whether the phone is switched on or in use today. That needs a live lookup on the phone networks.

Can it show where the person is?

No. It shows the city or region of the number's area code, for example Mumbai for an 022 landline. For most Indian mobile numbers only the country is known. This is where the number was issued, never where the person is, and Domailfix does not show who owns a number.

Which network does it show for Indian mobile numbers?

The network the number was first given to, such as Jio, Airtel, Vi or BSNL. In India people can move their number to another network, so the current network can be different.

What does Risky mean?

The number is valid but looks made up, such as 9999999999 or 9876543210, or it is a premium-rate number that costs the caller extra. Check these before you call or send messages.

Can it tell if a number is on India's DND list?

No. TRAI's Do Not Disturb list is only open to registered senders. Send promotional calls and SMS through a DLT-registered provider (Jio, Airtel, Vi, BSNL or an SMS company such as MSG91), which removes DND numbers for you.

Can it spot fake numbers typed by bots?

Yes, the common ones: repeated or running digits (9999999999, 9898989898, 1234567890), numbers full of zeros, internet (VoIP) numbers and public "free SMS" numbers are marked Risky, and numbers that several customers reported as spam are marked Spam.

How much does it cost?

5 credits per number. Duplicates in a list are checked once. Credits never expire, and you can try it free without an account.

Are the numbers I check stored or shared?

No. The check runs on Domailfix's own server, numbers are not stored after the answer, and they are never sent to anyone else.

Account, credits and payments

How do credits work?

Checking an email uses 1 credit, finding an email 2 credits when it is found (1 for a likely match), a company email format half a credit, a phone number 5 credits and company contacts 1 credit when something is found. Unknown results, and anything not found, are free.

Do bought credits expire?

No. Bought credits are a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and they stay in your account while it is open.

Can I get a refund?

Please see our Refund Policy.

Why can I not sign up with Gmail or Yahoo?

New accounts need a work email address, which keeps free credits for real businesses. If you already have an account, you can always log in with it.

Where do I find my API key?

On your account page, under API key. Use it with the API, the Chrome extension, Google Sheets, Zapier and the other integrations.

How do I delete my account or download my data?

On your account page. Deleting your account removes your details and credit history, except invoices that the law requires us to keep.

Free email tools

Why do SPF, DKIM and DMARC matter?

They prove an email really comes from your domain. Since 2024 Gmail and Yahoo require all three from anyone sending in bulk, and emails without them are far more likely to go to spam.

Is this check free?

Yes. It only reads your domain's public DNS records and never sends an email.

I fixed a record. Why does it still show the old one?

DNS changes can take up to a few hours to spread. Results here are also kept for 15 minutes; check again a little later.

What is the SPF 10 lookup limit?

Receivers follow at most 10 DNS lookups (include, a, mx, ptr, exists, redirect) when reading SPF. Above that, SPF fails, even for your real emails.

~all or -all?

~all marks other senders as suspicious, -all asks receivers to reject them. Both are fine with DMARC; use -all once you are sure every service you send from is listed.

Can I have two SPF records?

No. Two SPF records make SPF fail. Merge them into one.

Which DMARC policy should I use?

Start with p=none to receive reports without affecting delivery. When the reports show your own email passes, move to p=quarantine and then p=reject.

Where do I add it?

Add a TXT record with the host name _dmarc at your DNS provider (for example Namecheap, GoDaddy or Cloudflare).

What is a DKIM selector?

The name your DKIM key is published under, for example google for Google Workspace or selector1 for Microsoft 365. You can see it in a sent email's headers: DKIM-Signature: ... s=NAME.

How long should a DKIM key be?

2048 bits is recommended. 1024 bits still works; shorter keys are ignored.

What does MX stand for?

Mail exchanger: the server that accepts email for a domain.

Why does a domain have several MX records?

Backups. Senders try the lowest number first and fall back to the others.

I am listed. What now?

Find out why: open the list's page from the results. Fix the cause first (a hacked account, a bad list, a missing unsubscribe link), then request removal there. Most lists remove you for free.

Why could some lists not be checked?

Some lists, such as Spamhaus, refuse lookups from busy public DNS servers. Use the list's own page for those.

Does a clean list result mean I reach the inbox?

Not on its own. Inbox placement also depends on SPF, DKIM, DMARC, your sending habits and list quality. Verify your list with Domailfix before sending to keep bounces low.

Why block disposable emails?

Nobody reads them after a few minutes, so your welcome emails bounce or vanish, trial limits get abused and your sender reputation suffers.

How many disposable domains do you know?

Thousands, and the list is updated regularly. New throwaway services appear every week, so pair this check with full email verification for sign-up forms.

Can I block them on my sign-up form automatically?

Yes. The Domailfix website widget checks addresses as people type them and stops disposable ones.

What does the score measure?

What can be seen without contacting any mail server: badly written addresses, duplicates, likely typos such as gmial.com, throwaway domains and shared inboxes such as info@.

Does a high score mean no bounces?

No. An address can look perfect and still not exist. Verify the list with Domailfix to find the mailboxes that would bounce; the results page shows a score based on the real checks.

Is my list stored?

No. The check runs on the text you paste and nothing is saved.

What is the difference between a hard and a soft bounce?

A hard bounce is permanent (the address or domain does not exist): remove the address. A soft bounce is temporary (full mailbox, server busy): it may work later.

Why do bounces matter?

Mail providers watch your bounce rate. Above about 2% your emails start going to spam. Verify lists before sending to keep it low.

Is the text I paste sent anywhere?

No. The explanation is worked out in your browser.

Where do I add the SPF record?

At your DNS provider (Namecheap, GoDaddy, Cloudflare and so on): add a TXT record with host @ and the record as the value. Remove any older SPF record first; a domain may have only one.

What does the counter mean?

Receivers follow at most 10 DNS lookups when reading SPF. Each include counts. Above 10, SPF fails.

Which policy should I start with?

p=none. You get reports without any effect on delivery. When the reports show your real email passes, move to quarantine, then reject.

Do I need SPF and DKIM first?

Yes. DMARC passes when SPF or DKIM passes for your domain. Set them up first.

What makes an email address valid?

A name part (up to 64 characters), one @, and a domain such as company.com. The name part may use letters, digits and a few symbols such as . _ - +, but not two dots in a row or a dot at the start or end.

Does correct syntax mean the address exists?

No. An address can be written perfectly and still not exist. Use the email verifier to check that the mailbox is real before you send.

What is plus addressing?

Many providers deliver jane+news@company.com to jane@company.com. It is valid and often used to sort email.

Why did my email go to spam?

Look at the SPF, DKIM and DMARC results first: a fail is the most common reason. Then check the spam score lines, if the receiving server added any.

How do I spot a fake (phishing) email?

Warning signs are a failed DMARC check, a Reply-To address at a different domain than the From address, and a first server that has nothing to do with the company the email claims to be from.

Why was my email delayed?

The table shows the time at each server. A long gap between two steps shows where it waited, often because of greylisting or a busy server.

Do you show personal email addresses?

No. Only shared team inboxes (sales@, support@, careers@) that the company publishes for the public. To find one person's work email, use the email finder.

Where do the details come from?

Only from the company's own website. Each result links to the page it was found on, so you can check it.

Why are some phone numbers missing?

Numbers that do not pass our checks (wrong length, made-up looking) are left out, and numbers written only in images cannot be read.
